UNC head coach Mack Brown fully intends to serve in the same capacity in which he currently does for the Tar Heels come the 2025 season.

When Brown was asked about exactly that in a recent press conference, his answer was quite clear (and to the point).

“Yes,” he said.

In classic coach speak fashion, Brown continued that his focus for now remained on nothing but the next matchup on the schedule against NC State for Rivalry Week. He also said that he has not yet spoken with spoken with AD Bubba Cunningham, which is set to take place after the season wraps up.

The subject of Brown coming back next season has been a major point of controversy, with many analysts saying they believe it would be a purely bad move for UNC. Brown has reached multiple notable low points with the team this season, including one of UNC’s worst losses in program history when it fell 70-50 to James Madison earlier in the season.

His team currently holds a 6-5 overall record, most recently falling 41-21 to Boston College in another rough showing.

Brown and the Tar Heels are set to kick off against the Wolfpack on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET in Kenan Memorial Stadium.
