The Ole Miss Rebels got out to a hot start in the 2019 recruiting cycle, amassing the SEC’s No. 4 overall class and the No. 9 overall class in the nation through Tuesday.

However, on Tuesday evening, coach Matt Luke and the Rebels lost one of their 13 commitments when 3-star DE Jamond Gordon decided to reopen his recruitment.

According to the 247Sports composite, Gordon is the No. 40 weak-side defensive end in the class of 2019 and the No. 17 overall recruit from the state of Mississippi.

Gordon also has offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Arkansas, among others.
