It will be a special day for the Manning family on Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi.

Former Rebels quarterback Eli Manning will have his jersey retired during a ceremony as part of the Ole Miss-LSU game.

Manning’s father, Archie Manning, who also starred at quarterback for Ole Miss, will be on hand for the celebration.

He talked about the significance of the day for the Manning family on the SEC Network.

“This is really special for Eli today,” the elder Manning said. “It’s special for our family and for it to happen right here in a place we’re so crazy about.”

Of course, Ole Miss fans are hoping that another Manning at quarterback could be in their future.

Arch Manning, the son of Eli’s brother Cooper Manning, is the top quarterback and the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports composite.

Arch Manning is considering Ole Miss, where his father was set to play football before having to give up the sport for medical reasons.
