The Ole Miss Rebels are banned from postseason play this year, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have an exciting offense.

However, a former 4-star tight end has decided to move on with his career, according to a tweet he sent on Wednesday afternoon.

As you can see below, TE Jacob Mathis tweeted his intention to transfer from the Ole Miss program:

Mathis redshirted in 2016 and didn’t appear in any games in 2017. Clearly, the former elite recruit out of the Tampa area didn’t feel like he was going to get much playing time this fall, either.

Mathis won’t be able to play immediately at his next school, as he’s not a senior, so he’ll be eligible to take the field in 2019 at the earliest if he ends up at another FBS program.
