History in the making? Ole Miss can snap 42-year streak with win vs. Cal
The Ole Miss Rebels play host to No. 23 Cal on Saturday afternoon, and they have a chance to pick up a big win.
Not only would it help the Rebels move toward bowl eligibility, it would also help them snap a long streak.
Per Brandon Zimmerman, the Rebels haven’t beaten a ranked nonconference team at home since 1977, when they took down No. 3 Notre Dame:
No. 23 Cal at Ole Miss: Rebels haven’t won a non-conference home game against a ranked opponent since beating No. 3 Notre Dame 20-13 in 1977.

Cal is a tough Pac-12 team, though, with a strong secondary and a stifling defense. It’ll be interesting to see how QB Matt Corral and the Ole Miss offense fare against the Bears.
Can the Rebels snap this 42-year streak? Tune in to ESPNU at noon Eastern time to find out.
