It was a tough Saturday for Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin.

His 12th-ranked Rebels went to Tuscaloosa with dreams of upsetting No. 1 Alabama but instead fell behind 28-0 at halftime and the drama that many expected from the matchup never materialized.

After the game, Kiffin drew criticism for his decisions to go for 4th down conversions early in the game instead of playing more conservatively. The gambles didn’t pay off and the Crimson Tide seized momentum and control of the game.

Kiffin brushed off the second-guessing but the lopsided outcome had to sting.

If it did, however, it was only temporary, as Kiffin took to Twitter on Sunday morning in an effort to fire up the Ole miss faithful in advance of a huge home game next Saturday against Arkansas, which is coming off a tough loss of its own, having fallen 37-0 Saturday at Georgia.

The sun did come up!,” Kiffin tweeted. “Can’t wait to play at home packed!!! #cometothesip We coach to win games and believe in our players here that won’t change no matter who we play!!!”

Kiffin also included an image with the quote, “Our past may shape us, but it doesn’t define who we become.”

The Rebels and the Razorbacks game on October 9 is set for Noon EST and will be televised by ESPN.
