It’s been a tumultuous offseason for former Ole Miss OT Michael Oher.

The Carolina Panthers officially cut ties with Oher Thursday, but that may be the least of his issues.

Oher missed 13 games last season with a concussion, and he has yet been cleared to return to football. He’s been on the NFL’s concussion protocol since September.

In an incident that took place on April 14, Oher was accused of assaulting an Uber driver in Nashville after requesting a ride to a comedy club. He was cited for misdemeanor assault and later turned himself in. A lawsuit filed this week alleges that Oher was upset with the fare, and he kicked and pushed the Uber driver because of it.

The hearing for the assault charge was supposed to be Friday morning, but it’s been delayed until October 31.

In the 12-minute call that can be heard below (exclusive to The Tennessean), the Uber driver is out of breath and frantic for police to arrive as soon as possible, saying Oher bit him.

“He bit me,” the driver says. “My back.”

“Do you need an ambulance?” the dispatcher asks.

“I need a cop right now,” he says. “I think he’s a Titans player.”

Oher is most notably known as the inspiration for the Academy Award- nominated “The Blind Side” movie. He’s played with the Ravens, Titans and Panthers during his NFL career.
