This is not good news for the Rebels.

Ole Miss put up quite an offensive show in its win over Louisiana-Lafayette. Led by QB Jordan Ta’amu, the Rebels put up 50 puts in a dominant win Saturday.

The Rebels are clicking after scoring 37 points or more in three straight games. It is especially impressive after Ole Miss lost starting QB Shea Patterson to a knee injury, but the team has shown an ability to adapt with Ta’amu leading the offense.

In order to continue their impressive run, the Rebels will need to adjust to losing another strong offensive weapon. It was announced on Monday that WR Van Jefferson sustained a dislocated elbow and will miss the Texas A&M game. The team will then evaluate him leading up to the Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State.

Davis Potter shared Matt Luke’s update on Twitter:

Jefferson has 42 catches for 456 yards and a touchdown this season and is tied for seventh in the SEC in catches. His absence will leave a void on the Rebels offense, but they are thankfully equipped with the SEC’s leading receiver in A.J. Brown.

The Rebels will take on Texas A&M at home this Saturday with kickoff set for 7 pm EST on ESPN 2.
