Matthew Murrell is returning to Ole Miss for the 2023-24 season, according to a report.

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony was first to share that news on Tuesday morning. Murrell went through the pre-draft process for the 2023 NBA Draft, but maintained his collegiate eligibility.

“After gathering feedback from my workouts and team personnel, I am going to continue to build my game at Ole Miss, so I am in the position I want to be in for the 2024 NBA draft,” Murrell told ESPN. “I know who I am as a player and how that can translate to the NBA.”

Murrell’s return is huge news for for the Rebels. He led Ole Miss in scoring last season with 14.4 points per game and figures to be one of the top returning guards in the SEC.

The rising senior guard also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season.

The Rebels will be looking for their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019.
