One of the strangest recruitments in recent history has finally come to an end.

During his recruitment, MJ Daniels has been committed to both Ole Miss and Mississippi State.  Leading up to the Early Signing Period, the George County High School athlete has noted on several occasions that his plan was to stick to his pledge to join Mike Leach’s MSU program.

Despite those comments, the Lucedale, Miss., has once again flipped his commitment from one side of the Egg Bowl rivalry to the other as Daniels just committed to Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss program. It has been a “Merry Flipmas” season for the Rebels, indeed.

Daniels was previously committed to Ole Miss during the Matt Luke era but backed off that pledge in June. In late September, leading up to the start of the 2020 SEC season, Daniels announced his commitment to Mississippi State.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Daniels is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 7 overall prospect from the state of Mississippi and the nation’s No. 26 athlete in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
