Ole Miss has filled a vacancy on its 2025 schedule.
The program announced Monday that Washington State will come to Oxford next fall.

The Rebels had scheduled a home-and-home with Wake Forest for 2024 and ’25. After Ole Miss played the game in Winston-Salem, North Carolina last month, Lane Kiffin revealed that Wake Forest had elected to buy out the second game, scheduled for Sept. 13, 2025, in Oxford.
Kiffin expressed frustration with Wake Forest for backing out of the agreement.
“That’s rarely ever done,” Kiffin said in September. “I’ve never really heard of doing it, and it really puts us at a big disadvantage. It is what it is. It obviously wasn’t appreciated very much, them putting us in that situation.”
“Now we’ve got to find somebody and most people are all scheduled up. And even when you find somebody, you’ve got to go pay them. It’s kind of an unwritten rule not to do that, actually.”
Washington State’s announcement states that the game will be played on Oct. 11, 2025.
“The opportunity to face the University of Mississippi, with its rich football history, will be one our student-athletes, coaches and fans will certainly enjoy,” WSU Director of Athletics Anne McCoy said in a release.
