Ole Miss’ deadline to respond to the NCAA notice of allegations was this Friday, but a party other than the university has requested and was granted a 30-day delay.

That’s according to Rebels athletic director Ross Bjork in a story by The Clarion-Ledger’s Daniel Paulling.

“This extension is an often used tool available to all parties and the Notice of Allegations itself has not changed in any way,” Bjork said in a statement. “Upon completion of the 30-day extension period, the University will release our full Response to the Notice of Allegations.”

Paulling writes that the postponement now means that the investigation process won’t be completed until mid- or late-October.

Ole Miss athletes has been under this probe for almost four years now as it opened in 2012 with an investigation into the women’s basketball program. Football and the men’s and women’s track and field programs have been included since then.
