Ole Miss's last 3 Power 5 victories share one dubious distinction
The Ole Miss Rebels have one of the nation’s top offenses, with guys like QB Jordan Ta’amu and WRs AJ Brown, D.K. Metcalf and others putting up huge numbers.
However, they’ve needed some help to beat fellow Power 5 teams recently, as evidenced by a trend in their last three victories over such squads.
Per Twitter user @Rabeljr, the Rebels have taken advantage of some starting quarterbacks going down to win their last three Power 5 games:
@DanWolken Ole Miss is on the cusp of an interesting record of sorts.
They have not won a game vs a Power 5 opponent without injuring their QB since Nov.4th 2017 at Kentucky.P 5 wins vs MSU, Tex Tech, & Ark— Rick (@rabeljr) October 15, 2018
Obviously, the Rebels could have potentially won any of those games with the starter healthy, but it’s impossible to know for sure now.
The Rebels’ next chance against a Power 5 team comes this weekend at home against Auburn. But, based on recent trends, Jarrett Stidham should watch out.
