The inaugural year for Robert Nkemdiche on the professional level has not gone to plan.

A former first-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2016, Nkemdiche has registered only one tackle thus far through 10 games. He’s played only 51 snaps in the first nine weeks of the year.

Nkemdiche was battling an ankle injury earlier in the season, but has since been a healthy scratch for multiple games. His attitude and lack of maturity truly has led to a lack of playing time.

As reported by NFL.com, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians has not been happy with the former Ole Miss star.

“Talent, not an issue. Maturity is. It’s just maturing,” said Arians. Arians then went on to compare Nkemdiche to 2015 first-round pick D.J. Humphries.

Humphries didn’t feature much in his rookie season, but Arians did admit that the former Florida offensive lineman worked harder than Nkemdiche currently does.

Nkemdiche has a world of talent. If he’s able to realize his vast ability and improve from a character standpoint, he could become a star.

If not, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him wash out of the NFL after a few years.
