Ole Miss currently has a coach in interim Matt Luke, but most don’t expect the longtime Rebel coach and former player to stick around as the program’s leader much longer following the Egg Bowl. If a report by SB Nation is to be believed, the athletic department leaders in Oxford have already reached out and offered the position to an active Power 5 coach.

A joint report by writers from SB Nation states the school has reached out to Oregon’s Willie Taggart. According to the report, the current Ducks coach has already declined the offer.

Taggart is in his first year in Eugene after working as South Florida and Western Kentucky’s coach. Oregon is 6-5 in Taggart’s first season. The Florida native had a 24-25 overall record at South Florida and a 16-20 record at Western Kentucky.
