Awful news to pass along to the Ole Miss Rebels family this Sunday, police are investigating the death of former Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead.

Police in Austin, Texas are investigating the overnight death of Snead. According to KVUE, police do not suspect foul play.

Snead transferred to Ole Miss in 2007 after his freshman season at Texas. He played for the Rebels in 2009 and 2009, leading the Rebels to two Cotton Bowl wins. He opted to forego his senior 2010 season to enter the NFL Draft.

After Ole Miss, Snead signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2010, but was released before the start of the 2010 NFL season. He signed with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League, but was released before the start of the 2011 season.

A 2015 profile on Snead noted that he was working as an oil field supplies salesman in San Antonio, Texas.

Snead was 32.
