Houston Nutt’s involvement with Ole Miss is far from over and appears to be only getting started. Less than a week after playing an instrumental role in sparking the events that led to the resignation of Hugh Freeze, Nutt and his representatives appear to have their sights set on Ole Miss Athletic Director Ross Bjork.

This all stems from a federal lawsuit Nutt and his attorney filed against Freeze and Ole Miss during SEC Media Days. Call logs acquired by Nutt’s representatives provided strong indication that Freeze worked behind the scenes to wrongly finger Nutt for violations the NCAA had charged against Ole Miss. Of course, those logs revealed far more than Freeze’s contact with college football writers.

With Freeze’s records now on file, Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports and Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports both report Nutt’s attorney is seeking similar information from Bjork.

If acquired, it’s reasonable to expect a similar investigation will be done to see if Bjork contacted any writers prior to stories being written incorrectly pointing the finger at Nutt for Freeze’s mistakes. If so, Ole Miss may have another mess on its hands to clean up before its hearing with the NCAA Committee on Infractions takes place in the coming weeks.

If last weeks events proved anything, it’s that no one knows where exactly this story goes next, but anything can seemingly happen in the never ending saga between Ole Miss, the NCAA and now Houston Nutt and his high-powered attorney.
