Former Georgia Tech defensive lineman Akelo Stone announced late Friday night that he is transferring from Atlanta to Oxford, committing to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

Stone spent 3 seasons at Georgia Tech, totaling 17 tackles, 2 sacks and 7 tackles for loss. He appeared in 21 games across those 3 seasons, most of which came in years 2 and 3. Last season was easily his best, with 12 of his 17 tackles coming in 2022.

Stone was a team captain for Georgia Tech’s spring game, but entered the portal following the opening of the spring window from April 15-30.

He made his commitment to Ole Miss via his personal Twitter account:

Stone, who is originally from Savannah, Georgia, was a 3-star prospect out of high school. He was barely even rated by the 247Sports rankings.

The rising redshirt sophomore will have 2 seasons of edibility remaining and should make an immediate impact for the Rebels, whether that be in a starting role or otherwise.
