ESPN’s Brett Okamoto noted that UFC heavyweight fighter Juan Adams spent over a year trash-talking Greg Hardy. Hardy needed less than a minute to beat him Saturday night.

“I want to thank Juan Adams, no matter what he said about me,” Hardy said after his big win. “He was a great opponent, but it’s always ‘The Prince of War,’ baby.

“Everybody wants to get me on the ground. I want everybody to know that calling out my name comes with consequences. And taking me down comes with consequences.”

Adams had taunted the former Ole Miss defensive, calling Hardy not UFC worthy and created an explicit hashtag (#F—GregHardy) in the leadup to the fight. Hardy’s 45-second TKO was the biggest win of his young UFC career. He is now 5-1 as an MMA fighter (2-1 in UFC), with the lone loss coming due to disqualification for an illegal hit.
