Tennessee senior tailback and return specialist Devrin Young suffered “a couple of broken ribs” in his team’s 45-10 win over Chattanooga Saturday, head coach Butch Jones confirmed after the game. Jones didn’t go into specifics on the Vols’ other injuries, but said he’d heard news about Young.

“The only thing I’ve heard right now is Devrin Young has a couple of broken ribs,” Jones said. “I’ll have to get clarification on that.”

Young had 10 yards on one reception and zero yards on two carries against the Mocs. He never got a chance to return any kickoffs.

Sophomore cornerback Malik Foreman and freshman safety Evan Berry returned kicks in Young’s absence. Berry recorded a career-best 68-yard return to the Chattanooga 20-yard line in his first and only return against the Mocs, setting up a Johnathon Johnson touchdown reception.
