Mississippi State starting center Dillon Day took some heat over the weekend after he was accused of stomping on two LSU players during the Bulldogs’ 34-29 victory Saturday night.

Day was also penalized later in the game for unsportsmanlike conduct when he shoved an LSU player to the ground well after the play had been whistled dead, but he did not draw a flag for either of his alleged stomps.

The Bulldogs’ center wrote a letter to Mississippi State fans explaining his role on the two plays, then photographed the letter and tweeted it out Monday afternoon. Day denied any intent to stomp on players in the letter.
