The Kentucky Wildcats are down a defensive back prior to fall camp.

Senior Glenn Faulkner will miss the 2015 season after undergoing knee surgery this week, according to 247Sports citing sources.

The East St. Louis, Illinois, native missed the 2012 season due to injury, too. He’s recorded 19 total tackles with one pass defended during his career.  Teams never like to lose players to injury, but Faulkner is one the Cats’ defense can absorb. He was buried on the depth chart heading into fall camp.

The former four-star prospect was the No. 6 overall player from Illinois and No. 14 safety in the country back in 2011.
