Many LSU coaches expect left tackle Jerald Hawkins to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft, The Baton Rouge Advocate reports.

Hawkins has not made an official decision and declined comment when asked about it at yesterday’s team event in Houston ahead of the Texas Bowl. He said he had received his grade from the NFL College Advisory Committee, but has not looked at it yet.

Hawkins nearly left LSU before this season and had to be persuaded to return to Baton Rouge. He is projected by CBSSports.com as the 12th-best offensive line prospect in the 2017 Draft (he is not yet listed in the 2016 class).

There are a few other LSU players who submitted requests for evaluations from the NFL College Advisory Committee who could go quite early in the draft, but they too have not made final decisions.

The Advocate reports though that Hawkins is the most likely of LSU’s draft-eligible players to leave Baton Rouge early.
