LSU’s special teams roster may be trimming up heading into training camp as one of the program’s punters has just entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Senior punter Josh Growden is the latest SEC player to jump into the NCAA transfer portal as the Australian native is exploring his options elsewhere in 2019. This news was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Growden handled all short-distant punts for the Tigers last season.

During his three seasons in Baton Rouge, Growden has attempted 96 punts with an average of 39 yards per punt. The coffin-corner specialist has seen 47 of his 96 punts downed inside the 20-yard line during his college career.

Growden also handles holding duties on LSU’s field goals and PATs, so if the program lost him, a new player would be responsible for this duty.
