Kendall Randolph, a versatile offensive lineman and tight end at Alabama, has made his plans known for the 2022 season.

Randolph, who is 6-foot-4 and 298 pounds from Madison, Alabama (Bob Jones), will be back in 2022 for a super senior season, and is the seventh member of the Crimson Tide program to announce plans to return. Randolph is using the COVID-19 pandemic waiver that doesn’t count against his eligibility.

Randolph has appeared in 40 games over the last 3 seasons after he redshirted in 2017 and didn’t appear in a game in 2018. He’s primarily a blocking tight end, with 13 career starts at the tight end position, including 4 during the 2021 season, but he also works as a backup along the offensive line.

“Living in Alabama my whole life, I’ve always known that I wanted to play football for the Crimson Tide,” Randolph said in a statement. “When I got the opportunity to come to this great university, I could have never imagined the path my career would take.

“The adversity I have faced thus far has only made me stronger, and helped me to be present in the moment, instead of worrying about the future. I’ve slowed down and learned to enjoy the ride, and I’m so thankful for the position that God has put me in period. I would not be where I am today without support from all of my friends, family, teammates, coaches and the Alabama fans.

“I’ve always wanted to go out on top, and this season did not end the way that I hoped it would. We did not complete the mission, and I can’t leave knowing I could have done more.

“With that being said, I will be returning for my final season and cannot wait to get back to work. I know that we have a special group of guys coming back. The 2022 season cannot get here soon enough.”
