Leonard Floyd’s time in Chicago has apparently come to an end.

After four years with the franchise, the former first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft is set to hit the open free agent market according to multiple reports. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was the first to report the news.

NFL teams have the option to bring back first-round selections for a fifth year but after signing defensive end Robert Quinn in free agency, Floyd suddenly appears expendable in Chicago. Quinn landed a five-year, $70 million deal, with $30 million guaranteed.

The Bears would save over $13 million by not bringing Floyd back for the 2020 season.

Floyd started all 54 games of his NFL career after being selected in the first round and made 154 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, with 18.5 sacks, two safeties and an interception in four seasons with the Bears.

The former Georgia defender racked up 182 tackles, 17 sacks, 26.5 tackles for loss and forced five fumbles in three seasons in Athens.
