Nick Brossette, a former 1,000-yard running back at LSU, has announced that he’s returning to the program in an outreach role.

“I am excited to join Brian Kelly’s staff as the Director of Alumni Relations and High School Outreach. It has been a dream of mine to come back and work where it all started,” Brossette wrote in a tweet.

Brossette, a native of Baton Rouge, had his final season at LSU in 2018. He was a four-year letterwinner and rushed for 1,350 yards and 14 TDs during his LSU career. Brossette finished his career as the 32nd-leading rusher in LSU history despite serving as LSU’s primary running back for only one season, as he sat behind Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice for much of his career. He was invited to participate in the 2019 East-West Shrine Game and named a permanent team captain for the 2018 Tigers.

In his final season, Brossette appeared in 13 games with 11 starts, and led the Tigers and ranked No. 7 in the SEC in rushing yards with 1,039. He also finished third in the SEC in rushing touchdowns with 14. Brossette also turned in the 19th 1,000-yard rushing season in school history when he reached the mark against Central Florida in the Fiesta Bowl.
