Former Kentucky QB turned Boston College signal caller Patrick Towles is dedicating the 2016 season to Harambe, the 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla that was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden after dragging a three-year-old boy around his cage.

“Dedicating this season to the realist there ever was… #RIPHARAMBE,” Towles wrote on Instagram.

Obviously, the incident received international coverage and commentary, including controversy over the decision to kill Harambe.

The redshirt junior transferred to Boston College after graduating from Kentucky, where he’ll be eligible to play this season. He started 22 straight games with the Wildcats before being benched for freshman Drew Barker for the last two games of last season. Towles has tallied 5,099 career passing yards and 24 touchdowns.

So, Towles is evidently dedicating this season to the fallen gorilla.
