Justin Hilliard will most likely stay close to home–Ohio State, perhaps.
But on Friday the Cincinnati (Ohio) native–a five-star 6-foot-2, 235-pound linebacker from St. Xavier H.S.–named Alabama as part of his top five. The Buckeyes, Notre Dame, Michigan and Iowa also made that cut.
“When every school in the country is recruiting you and he names the top five and Alabama is one of them, I’d say the interest is awful high,” St. Xavier head coach Steve Specht told AL.com, the website that represents several Alabama newspapers. “Alabama is Alabama. You can look around and see who has the most national championships over the past few years.”
Hilliard was on Alabama’s campus in April. His head coach said he was amazed by the trip. He is ranked the No. 20 overall prospect in the nation by the 247Sports.com composite rating.
