LSU already has six on board for class of 2015

Quick … which college football program wears purple and gold and is the only one in the nation to boast two five-star prospects already for the class of 2015?

Les Miles knows the answer.

The Tigers boast the No. 1 prospect in America in cornerback Kevin Toliver, and the coaching staff is still grinning ear-to-ear thanks to the pickup of five-star offensive tackle Maea Teuhema last week. He was a package deal with his brother, 2014 three-star defensive end signee Sione Teuhema. The brothers decommitted from Texas just hours before national signing day.

The other class members are running back Nick Brossette, defensive back Kevin Henry (both four-star prospects) and TE Hanner Shipley and long snapper Blake Ferguson, little brother of current LSU long snapper Reid Ferguson. Shipley summed up what the whole group is thinking these days.

“I’m so pumped to be a Tiger,” Shipley told Saturday Down South. “I chose LSU because I fit into what they are doing offensively better than anywhere else I could have chose. They needed a big tight end who can block and catch and those are my two specialties. I love (assistant) coach (Steve) Ensminger and can’t wait to learn from him and help LSU win a national title.”
