Kyler Murray, the No. 1 quarterback target of Texas A&M for the class of 2015, will be done with recruiting on May 28. He is a five-star prospect and rated the No. 22 overall prospect in America by 247Sports.com’s composite ranking.
He’s a near lock to go with the Aggies, being a Texas native and being the son of former Texas A&M quarterback Kevin Murray. The father confirmed the announcement date with the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday. Clemson, Florida, Oregon and Texas Tech are the other schools in his top five.
Murray’s stature is similar to Johnny Manziel’s. He’s 5-foot-11, 170 pounds and a feisty winner. He’s 27-0 as a starter for Allen (Texas), winning two state titles. According to the paper, he has passed for more than 5,000 yards and rushed for 2,500 yards, while accounting for 100 touchdowns.
