Let’s be honest, it’s dizzying out there on Early Signing Day. If you can keep up with one team, you’re doing well. But what about the other 13 (in the SEC)?

We’re giving you the most thumbnail guide to SEC QB recruiting right here. Here is one thing to know about every SEC QB signee — and we used 247sports’s definition of who is and is not a QB, so if somebody slipped through the cracks, blame them. Listed are the players, their schools, and their rankings, first among all players and second among QBs, all per 247sports. (Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky and Ole Miss did not sign a QB on Wednesday.)

Alabama: Ty Simpson (5-star)

Ranks: No. 24 overall, No. 3 QB.

Skinny: Simpson, a dual-threat star who trailed only A&M’s Conner Weigman in the rankings of SEC QB signees, might not only be the best of the group, he’ll definitely be the first to get going. The son of UT-Martin coach Jason Simpson, not only is Ty going to Alabama, but he’s enrolling early and apparently plans to attend practice with the Tide heading into the CFP. Nothing like a quick start.

Auburn: Holden Geriner (4-star)

Ranks: No. 259 overall, No. 19 QB.

Skinny: Looking for something different? Geriner, who is the youngest of a trio of athletic brothers, is an outstanding fisherman. It remains to be seen if and when he’ll replace Bo Nix, but he likely leads the SEC in Guatemalan sailfish catching. Any challengers?

Georgia: Gunner Stockton (4-star)

Ranks: No. 67 overall, No. 7 QB

Skinny: Stockton, a talented Georgia product, is something of a throwback. He was committed to South Carolina very early in the recruiting process, but after Will Muschamp was fired, he reopened his recruitment, subsequently ending up at Georgia. Life in the SEC — where a QB’s lifespan is probably longer than a head coach’s. Maybe.

LSU: Walker Howard (5-star)

Ranks: No. 35 player, No. 5 QB.

Skinny: This is a 2 for 1 on Howard. He follows the footsteps of his father, Jamie, who was also an LSU QB. And he can’t dance. Although compared to Brian Kelly, he’d downright smooth.

Mississippi State: Braedyn Locke (3-star)

Ranks: No. 380 overall, No. 24 QB.

Locke put up massive numbers in Texas, but his expectations for receivers may be high. He was a high school teammate of OSU star Jaxon Smith-Njigba. If he and a few Bulldogs targets can develop the chemistry that Smith-Njigba found with CJ Stroud at Ohio State, Locke will be piling up passing records in Mike Leach’s system — as soon as Will Rogers is done.

Missouri: Sam Horn (4-star)

Ranks: No. 125 overall, No. 9 QB.

Skinny: Like other players in this group, Horn has a baseball background, and his brother, Monty, plays at Division II Kennesaw State. Horn plans to pitch for Missouri, which prompted coach Drinkwitz to Tweet a photo of Maverick and Goose from Top Gun and tag Mizzou baseball coach Steve Bieser when Horn committed. Touche.

South Carolina: Braden Davis (4-star)

Ranks: No. 322 overall, No. 22 QB.

Skinny: Davis, who is probably the best QB prospect ever produced in Delaware (are there others?), is the son of former Tennessee Vol Antone Davis. He had a busy signing week after winning the state championship over the weekend and then learning that the Gamecocks added former 5-star QB Spencer Rattler through the transfer portal.

Tennessee: Tayven Jackson (4-star)

Ranks: No. 209 overall, No. 12 QB.

Skinny: The Indiana passer was an early commit to UT, which might have let down some of the rest of his family. His half-brother, Trayce Jackson-Davis, is a basketball star at Indiana. (Trayce’s father is former Indiana Pacers standout Dale Davis, while Tayven’s father is former Washington State defensive back Raymond Jackson.)

Texas A&M: Conner Weigman (5-star)

Ranks: No. 19 overall, No. 2 QB.

Skinny: The top-ranked SEC QB signee, Weigman’s heart must be in A&M because he’s a young guy who has had decisions to make. A highly-touted baseball prospect, Weigman’s decision to enroll early at A&M means that he’ll likely be bypassing the MLB Draft, where he probably would have commanded a massive signing bonus, in favor of playing football and baseball for the Aggies.

Vanderbilt: AJ Swann (3-star)

Ranks: No. 401 overall, No. 26 QB.

Skinny: Swann is Vandy’s highest-rated recruit and a relative newcomer to the class. He committed early to Maryland and didn’t decommit until Nov. 30. Clark Lea then had a whirlwind recruitment, although Swann had unofficially visited Vandy on Oct.

The Dores also signed 3-star Drew Dickey, the No. 942 player overall and No. 59 QB. Dickey is a dual-threat from Austin, Texas, who passed for 25 TDs and ran for 14 more. Maryland was his only other P5 offer.
