The SEC has delivered numerous big wins over the past two seasons. Big wins over other Power 5 conference teams, none bigger than Alabama’s 45-40 victory over Clemson to win the 2015 national championship.

Nothing tops that.

But as far as margin of points, which SEC teams authored the biggest blowouts against Power 5 teams the past two seasons? Let’s take a look at the 10 biggest, five of which came against ranked opponents:

10. Texas A&M 38, No. 15 Arizona State 17 (2015 season)

Kyle Allen is now a quarterback with the Houston Cougars, but his opening performance to the 2015 season still ranks in the top 10 biggest wins for an SEC team over a Power 5 school. Allen passed for 198 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Kyler Murray. Christian Kirk was Allen’s top target with six receptions for 106 yards and scored one touchdown. Both Allen and Kirk grew up in Scottsdale, Ariz., near Arizona State.

10. Tennessee 45, Virginia Tech 24 (2016)

The Vols and Hokies finally got together and played a football game at Bristol Motor Speedway. For more than 20 years, the game was talked about. It finally happened in 2016, before 156,990 fans, the most to watch a college football game. Five Virginia Tech fumbles allowed Tennessee to win by a three-touchdown margin.

8. Arkansas 45, Kansas State 23 (2015)

Bret Bielema ended his third season at Arkansas with a 22-point victory over Bill Snyder’s Wildcats in the Liberty Bowl. Running back Alex Collins ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns. The season-ending win gave Arkansas its sixth victory in the final seven games to the 2015 season.

7. Mississippi State 51, N.C. State 28 (2015)

Quarterback and now NFL-star Dak Prescott ended his Mississippi State career with a victory in the Belk Bowl. Prescott passed for a Belk Bowl record 380 yards and four touchdowns.

6. Florida 30, Iowa 3 (2016)

Florida capped its second consecutive SEC East championship season under Jim McElwain with a dominant victory in the Outback Bowl. The Gators allowed 226 total yards. The Hawkeyes only had one legitimate chance of scoring, and the Gators stopped them on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

5. Ole Miss 48, No. 16 Oklahoma State 20 (2015)

Ole Miss is paying the price for its first Sugar Bowl win in 46 years. The win comes at a time that the Rebels’ football program is in the midst of an NCAA football investigation. The win over Oklahoma State gave the Rebels their first 10-win season since Eli Manning was a senior during the 2003 season.

4. LSU 56, Texas Tech 27 (2015)

It was all Leonard Fournette in LSU’s 29-point win over Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl. Fournette reached the end zone five times and ran for 212 yards in Les Miles’ final bowl game for the Tigers.

3. Alabama 38, No. 3 Michigan State 0 (2015)

Alabama’s 38-point shutout over the Big Ten champs might have been the most impressive SEC win over a Power Five team in the past two seasons. The reason – the dominating win came in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff and was the largest shutout in Cotton Bowl history.

2. Tennessee 45, No. 13 Northwestern 6 (2015)

Tennessee’s Outback Bowl victory over Northwestern capped a season in which the Vols won six consecutive games to close the 2015 season. The 39-point margin also provided hype for Tennessee heading into the 2016 season as SEC East favorites. Evan Berry, Josh Dobbs, Jalen Hurd, Alvin Kamara and John Kelly all scored touchdowns.

1. Alabama 52, No. 20 USC 6 (2016)

The biggest blowout for an SEC team over a Power Five school in the last two seasons came when Alabama beat USC, 52-6. The game defined Alabama’s season as quarterback Jalen Hurts replaced Blake Barnett early in the game. From then on, Hurts led the Crimson Tide to a third-consecutive SEC championship and on to the national championship game.
