Following the expected thumping from Alabama last week on the road, Texas A&M looks to bounce back when it takes on Arkansas in an early start on Saturday (11:01 a.m. CT) at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

There hasn’t been much bounce in the Hogs so far this season under first-year head coach Chad Morris, a 1992 graduate of Texas A&M, not since pasting Eastern Illinois by five touchdowns anyway. The Razorbacks have lost their past two games by a combined 58 points.

But the Hogs could show a modicum of improvement by simply getting out of their own way. Tied for most interceptions (9) in FBS, coupled with poor special teams play, have contributed to Arkansas coming up on the short end in its last three games.

Can they cut down on self-inflicted wounds against an angry Aggies team looking to get back on track? Here are 10 bold predictions for the 75th addition in this longstanding rivalry, led by Arkansas 41-30-3, despite losing the last six meetings to the Aggies.

1.Aggies extend series win streak and cover the spread

Three of the past four games between Texas A&M and Arkansas have gone to overtime and five of the past eight have been decided by a touchdown or less. However, opening as a 17-point favorite, now up closer to 21 points, the Aggies cover either number with a solid rebound in all phases. With the win, the Aggies accomplish their longest win streak over Arkansas in the 75-game history of the series.

2. Take the under (61)

The Hogs’ sputtering offense continues. While Texas A&M does its part, Arkansas won’t score enough points to push the ‘over’ in this game.

3. Kellen Mond has breakout game

The Aggies’ quarterback is one of only three Power 5 QBs with 7-plus passing touchdowns and 4-plus rushing touchdowns this season. Mond throws for 3 touchdowns and runs for 2 more as the Aggies roll.

4. Aggies’ punter Braden Mann continues to lead the country

After setting an NCAA record for single game punt average (minimum 5 punts) with a 60.8-yard average in five punts against Alabama, Mann leads the nation with a 54.9 average for the season. He isn’t listed in the official record because he doesn’t have enough punts to qualify. Mann will continue to lead the SEC and the country after Saturday, but once again won’t get enough chances to officially qualify because it will be a rarity that the Aggies punt the ball on Saturday.

5. Jace Sternberger sets the record

The Aggies’ TE will catch 2 touchdown passes on Saturday, bringing his season’s totals to 6, a program record for tight ends.

6. Freshman extends FG streak

True freshman kicker Seth Small is 5-for-5 at Texas A&M since filling in for Daniel LaCamera, who suffered a fracture in his non-kicking foot. Small stays perfect Saturday and adds another field goal to his credit.

7. Jhamon Ausbon has career game

The Aggies’ wide receiver already leads the team with 14 catches for 216 yards. He’ll more than double that with a career-high 8 catches (surpassing his career high of 7) against former Aggies secondary coach Ron Cooper, who took the same position at Arkansas when former Aggies DC John Chavis moved over to Arkansas in the same capacity after last season.

8. Ty Storey sets personal records

The Arkansas quarterback set career-highs last week in completions (13) and attempts (31) against Auburn. He will surpass both Saturday as the Hogs go to the air when the run game is stuffed by an Aggies defense that ranks 10th nationally (92.5 yards per game) against the run.

9. Dre Greenlaw gets double-figure tackles

The Arkansas linebacker returned to the lineup last week after exiting the season opener with 10 tackles against Eastern Illinois. He returns to form Saturday with double-digit tackles, including a sack and another tackle for loss as he gets plenty of opportunities with Texas A&M’s offense on the field for a good portion of the game.

10. Aggies break 600 yards on offense

They already lead the SEC (7th nationally), averaging 545.5 yards per game, but Texas A&M will break 600 yards of offense for the second time this season and first time since putting 758 on Northwestern State in the opener. The run game will be devastating to an Arkansas defense that has allowed an SEC-low 353 total yards rushing so far this season.
