The SEC is regularly expected to flex its muscle as college football’s top conference by dominating the NFL Draft. While it’s a little early for decisions from juniors, draft experts are regularly updating their mocks for 2020. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has 12 SEC players as first-round selections in his latest mock draft:

  • LSU QB Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals, No. 1 overall
  • Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy – New York Giants, No. 3
  • Georgia OL Andrew Thomas – New York Jets, No. 5
  • Alabama OL Alex Leatherwood – Denver Broncos, No. 7
  • LSU CB Kristian Fulton – Atlanta Falcons, No. 8
  • South Carolina DL Javon Kinlaw – Arizona Cardinals, No. 9
  • Auburn DL Derrick Brown – Jacksonville Jaguars, No. 13
  • Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III – Oakland Raiders, No. 14
  • LSU S Grant Delpit – Minnesota Vikings, No. 24
  • South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards – Buffalo Bills, No. 26
  • Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa – New England Patriots, No. 31
  • Alabama CB Xavier McKinney – San Francisco 49ers, No. 32

We’re in for months of speculation about where Tagovailoa will be drafted after his season-ending injury. It will be interesting to see if draft experts start projecting Tagovailoa as Tom Brady’s heir apparent as the injury may drop from early first-round to late first-round.
