The SEC has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball this year, but some of the defenders this season are absolutely elite.

In CBS Sports’ updated 2019 NFL Mock Draft, 12 SEC stars are projected to go in the first round — 10 on defense and two on offense.

As you can see below, a whopping six SEC players are projected to go in the top 10, with four going in the top 5:

  • No. 2 — Quinnen Williams, DL, Alabama — Arizona Cardinals
  • No. 3 — Drew Lock, QB, Mizzou — Oakland Raiders
  • No. 4 — Jonah Williams, OL, Alabama — New York Jets
  • No. 5 — Greedy Williams, DB, LSU — New York Giants
  • No. 7 — Deionte Thompson, DB, Alabama — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • No. 10 — Jachai Polite, DL, Florida — Detroit Lions
  • No. 11 — Jeffery Simmons, DL, Mississippi State — Atlanta Falcons
  • No. 14 — Josh Allen, DL/LB, Kentucky — Green Bay Packers
  • No. 17 — Montez Sweat, DL, Mississippi State — Oakland Raiders
  • No. 21 — Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama — Baltimore Ravens
  • No. 26 — Deandre Baker, DB, Georgia — Oakland Raiders
  • No. 29 — Devin White, LB, LSU — Pittsburgh Steelers

A lot can change in the coming months, but it’s probably safe to assume at this point that the SEC will once again have the most first-round talent.
