Sporting News released its newest college football Top 50 Player Rankings, and the list was filled with SEC players.

Fourteen players from the SEC made the Top 50. The conference had the No. 1 player, and three of the top five.

Leonard Fournette is Sporting News’ No. 1 player, and understandably so. The LSU running back has rushed for 1,352 yards and 15 touchdowns in seven games for the fourth-ranked Tigers.

Alabama running back Derrick Henry is the No. 4 player. The junior has rushed for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games for the seventh-ranked Crimson Tide.

Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III is Sporting News’ No. 5 player. The junior cornerback has picked off three passes and made 15 tackles for the No. 13 Gators.

Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett was the No. 12 player, while Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell was 14th.

Alabama had three players in the Top 50. In addition to Henry, linebacker Reggie Ragland was 32nd and defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson was 39th.

Treadwell and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche (who was 27th) were Ole Miss’ two representatives on the team. Florida also had two players – Hargreaves and defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard.

The other SEC players in the Top 50 were: Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott (38th), Georgia linebacker Leonard Floyd (42nd), Alabama running back Alex Collins (43rd), South Carolina wide receiver Pharoh Cooper (46th) and Tennessee cornerback Cameron Sutton (48th).
