It’s been a great year for SEC men’s basketball, but that doesn’t mean all 14 teams are doing so well.

Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy recently resigned, and according to Yahoo! Sports analyst Pat Forde, two more SEC coaches could be on the way out.

In his weekly column, Forde says Georgia’s Mark Fox, who has been with the Bulldogs since 2009, could be fired after a disappointing 2017-18 campaign:

Mark Fox has been under pressure for years, and the likelihood of missing the NCAA tournament for the seventh time in nine seasons should mean that time is up.

On the other hand, Forde also lays out the case against Auburn’s Bruce Pearl. Even though the Tigers will likely win the SEC regular-season title, Forde notes that the scandal surrounding the program could spell the end of Pearl’s tenure:

Bruce Pearl could well be national Coach of the Year if not for The Investigation Thing, which has resulted in the firing or suspension of five people associated with Auburn basketball — but not Pearl. He’s confident he will be OK when all is said and done. That could well be wishful thinking.

It may not be as crazy as this year’s football coaching carousel, but there could still be some big changes coming to the SEC basketball landscape this offseason.
