A pair of SEC schools have earned a distinct honor for 2019 — the top party schools in the conference.

According to a study conducted by The Princeton Review, Alabama and Florida rank among the top 20 party schools in the country. Alabama ranked No. 11 in this year’s study, while Florida came in at No. 18.

The Princeton Review surveyed 138,000 students from 384 different colleges and universities, according to Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review Books. The survey asked 84 questions about the school’s academics, administration and student body.

Five metrics were used to determine the list:

  1. Beer consumption
  2. Liquor consumption
  3. Drug consumption
  4. Hours student spent outside of the classroom daily
  5. The popularity of the fraternity and sorority scene on campus

The University of Delaware ranked No. 1 on the list as it ranked No. 1 in lots of hard liquor, No. 1 in lots of Greek life, No. 9 in lots of beer and No. 11 in students who study the least.

“If a school ends up on a less-than-coveted list … people react in different ways,” Franek said, according to the Delaware News Journal. “But we’re simply giving the opinion of those hundreds and thousands of students a voice.”

It’s worth noting that Florida (No. 18) came in just ahead of in-state rival Florida State (No. 19) on the list. Alabama’s largest in-state rival, Auburn, did not make the top 20.
