There’s a strong chance your bracket is completely busted.

Mine certainly is, and you can thank UMBC for that one, as the Retrievers made history by knocking off the No. 1 overall seed UVA Friday night.

Following the first- and second-round carnage, two SEC teams ended up advancing to the Sweet 16: Kentucky and Texas A&M.

The No. 5 seed Wildcats defeated Davidson 78-73 in the first round before dominating Buffalo 95-75 Saturday. With UMBC’s win over Virginia, Kentucky’s region looks much better. Amazingly, Nevada also upset Cincinnati Sunday evening, and the Cats won’t have to play a team seeded higher than No. 7 to reach the Final Four. The Cats will face the winner of UMBC and Kansas State in the Sweet 16 on Thursday.

No. 7 seed Texas A&M beat Providence 73-69 in the first round, and defending national champion North Carolina came calling in round two. However, the Tar Heels proved to be no match for the Aggies’ size, as Texas A&M dominated the Heels 86-65. The Aggies will now face Michigan Thursday in the Sweet 16.

Eight SEC teams ended up making the NCAA Tournament, and six of the eight won their first-round games, which tied an SEC record in the first round. Missouri and Arkansas were the only two that didn’t advance to the second round.

Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee all lost their second-round matchups.
