The Georgia Bulldogs may have been in line to receive an NIT bid, but after coach Mark Fox was fired, the team decided not to play if they were invited.

However, that doesn’t mean the SEC was left out of the tournament, as two teams from the conference were invited to the event that hosts its Final Four at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Mississippi State is a No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seed Nebraska in the first round.

Meanwhile, LSU earned a No. 3 seed and will host an interesting matchup against No. 6 seed Louisiana-Lafayette.

That battle of the Bayou State will be a fun one to watch, and it will certainly be exciting to see how far these SEC teams can advance.
