The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Thursday its 15 finalists in the Modern-Era Player category for the Class of 2022.

Headlining the list are 3 former SEC standouts: Auburn’s Willie Anderson, Georgia’s Richard Seymour, and Patrick Willis of Ole Miss.

Also making the cut were Auburn, Alabama native and former Troy standout DeMarcus Ware, along with a trio of former star wide receivers in Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, and Torry Holt.

The 15 finalists were determined by vote by the Hall’s Selection Committee. The original list of players under consideration was 123 before 26 semifinalists were named on Nov. 24.

The Selection Committee can elect as many as 5 Modern-Era Players for the 2022 Class, and to earn induction a player must receive a minimum positive vote of 80 percent.

Final voting is expected to take place during a virtual meaning on Jan. 18, 2022.
