The No. 1 running back in the Class of 2024 dropped a top 5 Tuesday and 3 SEC teams made the cut.

Kind of, at least. Jerrick Gibson, a 5-star running back out of Florida, also included Texas on his list. Texas will be apart of the SEC by the time Gibson gets to a college campus.

The 3 current SEC teams on Gibson’s list are Florida, Tennessee and Georgia. Miami also made the cut for the 5-10, 210 pound back.

Each of the 3 SEC teams listed has a legitimate shot at landing Gibson. He originally hails from Gainesville, which gives Gator fans a good angle tying him to Florida. Tennessee has perhaps the best offense of the group, an offense that, perhaps a misnomer of their offense in general, is very run-dependent. And does Georgia really need an introduction?

247Sports, for what it’s worth, has 2 predictions forecasting Gibson to Texas.

In addition to being the No. 1 RB in the country according to 247, Gibson is considered to be the No. 26 overall prospect and the No. 6 player out of the talent-rich state of Florida.
