With the NFL Playoffs in full swing, NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah took a big picture look at the 2017 NFL Draft class, a class that was thoroughly dominated by SEC programs.

Jeremiah ranked the top five schools that produced the best collection of impact rookies, and four SEC programs made the cut: Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Florida. Ohio State was the only non-SEC program.

The Crimson Tide were ranked No. 1, headlined by 49ers LB Reuben Foster, who is an absolute terror. Another big-time talent is Jacksonville OT Cam Robinson. Robinson absolutely helped turn the Jaguars into a team that could bully opponents at the line of scrimmage.

Here’s what Jeremiah penned about the Tide’s impact rookies:

Alabama has a long list of impact rookies. The overall depth of the group is impressive, but Foster has been the standout of the bunch. He’s been the toner setter we thought he would be. Humphrey has come on really strong in the second half of the season and has been better than I expected. Howard is showing great promise, and Allen was steady prior to suffering a season-ending foot injury in October.

Robinson has been outstanding and it wouldn’t shock me if he gets some Pro Bowl consideration. The Jaguars are one of the top rushing teams in the league and they’ve done a nice job of protecting Blake Bortles — Robinson is a big reason for their success up front. Tomlinson has started every game this season for the Giants. Jackson’s been a ball magnet, scoring two TDs of 75-plus yards against the Panthers in October.

No doubt this is just another selling point for Alabama, as if it needed one. The Tide just rolled to their 17th National Championship with the win over Georgia.

LSU was ranked No. 2, headlined by the Jets’ Jamal Adams and the Jaguars’ Leonard Fournette. Tennessee was ranked No. 4, thanks to the electrifying Alvin Kamara, and Florida was ranked No. 5, headlined by Lions’ LB Jarrad Davis.

Just another example of the talent SEC programs produce.
