With the regular season and conference championship weekend in the rearview mirror, and with college football awards being handed out ahead of bowl season, Thursday saw the release of the annual Walter Camp All-America 1st and 2nd teams — and the SEC was well-represented.

A total of 6 players throughout the conference made the 1st team on either offense or defense. On offense, Tennessee WR Jalin Hyatt was named to the 1st team on the back of a season where he totaled 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns, with Florida OL O’Cyrus Torrence joining him. Defensively, a pair of Georgia players — defensive lineman Jalen Carter and defensive back Christopher Smith — joined Alabama LB Will Anderson and Mississippi State DB Emmanuel Forbes as 1st-team picks. Anderson, who has already raked in a host of awards, is the only player to have received 1st-team selections in back-to-back seasons.

On the 2nd team, 2 SEC players on offense and 3 on defense/special teams received nods. Offensively, Georgia TE Brock Bowers and Ole Miss OL Nick Broeker were honored, while on defense and special teams, Arkansas LB Drew Sanders, South Carolina punter Kai Kroeger, and Mississippi State kick returner Lideatrick Griffin made the list.
