Earlier Tuesday, Pro Football Talk broke the news that the Alliance of American Football was set to suspend all operations eight games into its planned 10-game inaugural season.

While the league itself has not yet addressed the report, Memphis Express QB Johnny Manziel and Orlando Apollos head coach Steve Spurrier have already shared their reactions to the news. Now the league’s co-founder, Bill Polian, has issued a statement. Reporter Darren Rovell tweeted screenshots of the statement (below). Polian’s statement offers thanks to those who helped make the AAF possible and expresses disappointment with new owner Tom Dundon’s decision to reportedly suspend all operations. He also offers to do whatever he can to help AAF players gain NFL opportunities.

The league is expected to make an official announcement on the matter shortly.
