We don’t know who play in the Alliance of American Football yet, but now we know how much they’ll make and potentially where they’ll play.

According to a report from ESPN’s Darren Rovell, AAF players will have 3-year, non-guaranteed contracts for $250,000, which is an average of $83,333 annually.

That’ll be close to the reported $75,000 annual salary that players in the new XFL will make. The AAF, however, is set to launch next February while the XFL will relaunch in 2020.

In August, the AAF will have 3 combines in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, and it’ll be a $175 entry fee. The AAF plans on scouting players who don’t make either the NFL or CFL.

Another interesting takeaway from Rovell’s report was that AAF players will be allocated to rosters primarily by where they played in college, as long as there’s “an AAF team within a reasonable radius.” If there isn’t a reasonable local team in proximity to the player’s college, it can also be based on where they played most recently in the NFL or CFL.

“Each of our teams will have at least five colleges whose players become theirs, four designated NFL teams and a CFL team that is assigned,” league co-founder and ESPN NFL analyst Bill Polian said via ESPN.com.

Polian actually used Trent Richardson potentially playing for Birmingham as an example of why it would make sense from a marketing standpoint.

In addition to Birmingham, the league will also have teams in Atlanta, Memphis, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio and San Diego. Steve Spurrier is set to coach Orlando.

So just in case there was any doubt, this all but confirms that if Tim Tebow did decide to quit baseball, he’d be playing for Spurrier in Orlando.
