Should the 2020 NFL Draft go on as planned?

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is starting to express his doubts.

During a recent appearance on SportsCenter, ESPN’s No. 1 NFL insider vented his frustration regarding the league’s decision to push forward this offseason in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s an interesting stance to take, as ESPN stands to be among the organizations with the most to gain from holding the draft as a quarantined nation is more likely to tune in to the coming draft than probably any draft in history — given the fact the alternatives are few and far between at the moment.

Here’s what Schefter had to say about the 2020 NFL Draft on Tuesday.

“We all want to see the days where we have that distraction of football but OTAs that are not happening, the offseason program, that’s not happening,” Schefter noted. “The draft is happening, only through the sheer force and determination and lack of foresight from the NFL, frankly. They are determined to put this on while there is carnage in the streets.”
