Alabama leads all schools with players on active NFL rosters; 5 SEC teams make top 10
When you see numerous Alabama players going in the NFL Draft every year, it’s no surprise current pro rosters are littered with former Crimson Tide standouts.
In fact, the Tide lead all schools with 56 former players on opening day NFL active rosters, according to data compiled by Gil Brandt.
Per Brandt, Alabama has a 12-player lead over the No. 2 school, which is Ohio State. Here’s how the top 10 rankings shake out:

LSU and Florida each have 35 alums in the NFL, while Georgia (29) and Texas A&M (27) are also among the 10 schools with the most current NFL talent.
If anything, Alabama’s lead in this category may increase with the 2020 NFL Draft, when another dozen or so Crimson Tide players are expected to hear their names called.
