It was a big week for running backs in the SEC, as seven ballcarriers crested the 100-yard plateau while another (Auburn’s Jovon Robinson) fell three yards short of hitting triple digits.

Defensively, it was a huge week for the conference’s linebackers as eight different players competed for our two spots.

Here’s a look at the top players from the SEC during Week 12 action.

OFFENSE

QB Dak Prescott – When Dak Prescott has a career night, you know the numbers are going to be gaudy. The senior threw for 508 yards and five touchdowns in Mississippi State’s wild 51-50 win over Arkansas. He also ran in two scores of his own, en route to becoming the fourth quarterback in FBS history — and the second SEC QB after Tim Tebow — to throw for 60 touchdowns and rush for another 40 in a career.

RB JoJo Kemp and Stanley “Boom” Williams – Kentucky’s running duo of JoJo Kemp and Stanley “Boom” Williams steamrolled Charlotte in Week 12, tallying a combined 305 yards on the ground. Kemp ran for 165 and found the end zone three times in the Wildcats’ 58-10 win. It was the second-straight 100-yard performance for Williams (140 yards, 2 TDs), who has now accomplished the feat eight times in his career, including five times this season.

RB Jalen Hurd – Jalen Hurd posted an SEC-high 162 yards in Week 12 as Tennessee ran passed Missouri on a cold night in Columbia. Hurd now has 1,038 yards on the season, ranking No. 4 overall in the SEC. It’s the sophomore’s first 100-yard game, however, since rushing for 102 yards in Week 4 against Florida.

WR Pharoh Cooper – Pharoh Cooper continues to improve his draft stock despite playing on a mediocre offense hauling in 191 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against The Citadel. The junior’s five 100-yard efforts this season eclipse Cooper’s mark of four from a year ago when he was a first-team All-SEC wideout.

TE Hunter Henry and Jeremy Sprinkle – Arkansas tight ends Hunter Henry and Jeremy Sprinkle combined for an eye-popping 176 yards and five touchdowns against Mississippi State. Hunter hauled in 129 of those yards, while Sprinkle grabbed three touchdown passes in the 51-50 loss.

Tennessee Offensive Line – The Tennessee front five paved the way for 248 rushing yards against a stingy Missouri defense that previously had been allowing only 113 yards per game. Led by Coleman Thomas, the SEC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week, the Vols’ line didn’t allow a sack against a Mizzou unit that is fourth in the conference in team sacks with 27. Thanks to the line, Tennessee’s boasts its most team rushing yards (2,351) since the 2004 season. It’s also marks the seventh time this year that the Vols were able to rush for more than 200 yards.

DEFENSE

DE Marquis Haynes – Mississippi’s Marquis Haynes is a regular on this list, returning this week courtesy of his 4.0 tackles, one of them for a loss, ranking him third in the SEC for tackles-for-loss (1.36 per game). The sophomore also recovered a fumble and tallied a quarterback hurry in Ole Miss’ shakedown of LSU.

DE Channing Ward – Channing Ward teamed with Marquis Haynes and the Ole Miss defense to combine for 7 tackles-for-loss and 10 pass breakups, while creating four turnovers (2 INTs). Ward was responsible for one of those turnovers, causing LSU’s Brandon Harris to fumble while adding 4.0 tackles and a sack to his stat line.

ILB Zach Cunningham – Zach Cunningham might be one of the most unheralded stars in the SEC. The Vanderbilt linebacker tied LSU’s Deion Jones and Ole Miss’ DeMarquis Gates for tops in the conference with 14 tackles during Week 12 action. Three of the sophomore’s tackles went for a loss. The Commodores’ season-leader in tackles (93) and tackles-for-loss (16.5) also forced a fumble and registered a sack in Vandy’s 25-0 loss to Texas A&M.

WLB Jarrad Davis – Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis was all over the field in the Gators’ overtime victory against Florida Atlantic. The junior finished with 10 tackles, tied with fellow linebacker Antonio Morrison for most on the team. Davis also sacked both Owl quarterbacks, bringing down Jaquez Johnson and Jason Driskel.

CB Cyrus Jones – Cyrus Jones returned 115 yards worth of punts for scores of 43 and 72 yards and added a forced fumble and recovery, which he rumbled to the Charleston Southern 6-yard line. And that was just in the first half of Alabama’s 56-6 drubbing of the Buccaneers. The cornerback finished with 3.0 tackles, all of them for a loss, in one of the most dominating performances of the Week 12 in the SEC. Jones is the first player in Crimson Tide history with two punt returns for a touchdown in the same game. His three punt-return scores are tops in the nation.

DB Johnathan Ford – Auburn defensive back Johnathan Ford made his presence felt during the Tigers’ 56-34 Week 12 win over Idaho. Ford finished with 7 tackles, including one of them for loss. But the junior’s biggest play was his 48-yard interception return for a touchdown that put Auburn up 35-10 and proved to be the game-winner.
